Reading tree growth rings

Each year, a tree grows a new ring. When we look at the rings we can get the story. Our relief ring prints archive these stories.

Even spaces mean the rings are happy! A great mix of sun and rain over the years let the tree grow evenly.

Narrow rings can indicate a lack of sun or water over the years, it could also be a sign of damage from fire or insects.

Wide rings on one side, narrow on the other is an indication that something has pushed against the tree as it’s been growing.
